Steve, you are bang on here. I followed them religiously for 14 years, met them numerous times and attended over 40 shows. To say I was disappointed in Dave is an understatement. He’s very bright and one day (if not already) he will be living with the guilt and shame of being duped and losing his best friend because of it.

I appreciate your research into this situation. I wanted to point out a couple of things. I am a physicians assistant (PA), and I can confirm that the heart can double in size in a short period of time, even just a week or less. My second point is that I saw Taylor Hawkins in an interview talking about his health and he said that his doctor told him he had a big heart, like an athletes heart, so he was already aware of his enlarged heart far prior to his death. You might take this into consideration in your summary. I dont know the date of the interview. Additionally the ten substances they found dont mean anything. In Chris Cornell's tox report he had caffeine, Sudafed, the metabolite of Sudafed, and the recovery drug Narcan used in the resuscitation process, along with two prescription drugs, Ativan, which he was taking in therapeutic doses, and butalbital, generally used for migraines, in a therapeutic dose.. We know Taylor probably had alcohol. My point is that having ten substances doesnt mean that they are ten dangerous substances. Additionally, a UA shows not the drug itself, but the metabolites the drug produces that are found in Urine and these metabolites stay in your system on average 3-4 days, some longer. I believe many of them were prescription, the antidepressants and anti anxiety meds make sense because he had stage fright and anxiety, as well as depression. He likely could have had a pain medication with an opiate in it as he was 50 and worked a very physically taxing job. Marajuana, well whatever. And probably had alcohol. So the substances in his system on a UA were not necessarily taken on the day of his death, but within the few days prior to his death. We dont know if any contributed to his death or if any were taken above therapeutic dosage. Without the drug levels, none of that matters as we dont know if it contributed to his death.
